Dr. Muhammad Sohail Gadiwala

Dr. Muhammad Sohail Gadiwala was in FBR as Deputy Director (MIS). He finished his M.Sc. from University of Karachi in 1987 and joined as a Meteorologist Assistant in Pakistan Meteorological Department. After a few years, he was selected as Assistant Meteorologist. In 1998, he was selected by FBR as Assistant Director (MIS). He was engaged in research in geography and got his PhD degree in the year 2013 from Federal University of Arts, Science and Technology (FUUAST), Karachi (His Ph.D. dissertation topic was "Socio-Economic Impact of Drought on Pakistan -- a Climatological Forecasting Analysis"). Many research papers are credited in his research career. He was once again deputed to the Pakistan Meteorological Department as Deputy Meteorologist, where he devoted his energy to exploring climatological & meteorological analysis in different aspects, and imparted meteorological messages creation in CREX, BUFR (WMO binary data creation and dissemination through GTS). He also worked as a visiting professor at the Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology University of Karachi time by time. He joined PASSP in 1994. He has been engaged in various positions of office bearers in the council of PASSP. Since 2015, he has been the Joint Secretary, afterward, Vice President of PASSP. He is keenly interested in the revival of PASSP as a guiding body in society. He has currently created PASSP website, of his dream to advance in digital Pakistan, for which he is working hard with his team of Council members. In this connection, a proposal for a ground plus five stories science building for education, health, a science museum, an astronomical observatory and various health related activities that were approved by the PASSP Council are underway.
